Collections

How these books are made

Every word list in our books is assembled by hand. Each word is chosen because it belongs to its puzzle, and every one has earned its place. No word is used twice in a volume, and there are no near-repeats either, so you will not find stone in one puzzle and stony in the next.

The print is large and clear throughout, set in Atkinson Hyperlegible, a typeface developed by the Braille Institute to be easy on the eyes. Grand Print goes further still, with 30-point letters and puzzles designed for readers with low vision, for a calm and relaxing time on every page.

Each collection has its own way of doing things. Golden Age Nostalgia, The Living Word and The Sacred Arts give every puzzle a story, a fact to enjoy and a short glossary. The Cozy Season and Grand Print give every puzzle a page of its own, and in The Mystery Dossiers and Friday Club Murders every puzzle is a case to solve. Whichever you choose, every puzzle is a little world of its own.
